The results of this year’s Decanter World Wine Awards were announced earlier this week, the world’s largest and one of the most prestigious wine competitions. We were thrilled to be awarded a hat-trick of Silver medals across the three wines that we entered; our Reserve Cuvée, our 2020 Orpheus Bacchus and our soon to be released 2021 Sauvignon Blanc.
We enjoyed reading the judges comments which are shown below for each of the wines! If you’d like to be one of the first to try our Sauvignon Blanc 2021 before its official release then it’s available as part of our English Wine Week here
Sauvignon Blanc 2021:
“A classic expression of Sauvignon Blanc from England. This 100% Sauvignon Blanc delivers oodles of gooseberry, gorse, crisp green apples, lemon and lime, and white pepper and has a hint of steel that delights the palate. Impressive.”
Orpheus Bacchus 2020 (sold out):
“Expressive, aromatic style. Aromas of apples, pears, stone fruits (think peaches) and a lingering finish. Sauvignon blanc-ish, classy and understated.”
Reserve Cuvée:
“Fresh and light aromas of strawberries, apples, lemon and blossom. Flavours of quince and light biscuit notes, along with brioche. Straw coloured, some complexity and good length.”
