Join on us Friday 19th January for our Discovery Evening – discover our range of wines, with a wine flight of your choice to sample our range. Add on a grazing platter if you want to make more of an evening of it. There’s a few spaces left on our popular Vineyard Dog Walk on Sunday 28th January. Stretch those legs, blow away those cobwebs and enjoy an extended informative vineyard walk through our Woodchester vineyards, followed by a wine flight back in our cosy tasting room. Four legged friends very welcome but not essential! Warning – steep hills and potentially muddy conditions so dress appropriately! Are you doing Veganuary? Well why not finish off in style with our Vegan Food & Wine pairing evening on Wednesday 31st January. We’ve matched a selection of 5 plant based appetisers with 5 of our wines to celebrate all things plant based!
February 2024
We’re kicking off February’s special events on Tuesday February 6th with another perfect pairing – our classic vineyard tour and wine tasting, followed by a portion of Simpson’s Finest Fish and Chips! Or if wine and cheese is more your thing, then our monthly Wine & Cheese evening is Friday 9th February – come along for an informal evening with a wine flight and a platter featuring a fantastic selection of local cheeses. Valentine’s Day plans? Why not join us for our Pinot & Pizza Evening – we’ve got Marc from Velo Bakery serving his handthrown delicious sourdough pizzas up at the vineyard and we’ll be sampling our Pinot Noir based wines – Wednesday 14th February. Our monthly Discovery Evening returns on Friday 16th February, as does another of our winter Vineyard Dog Walks on Sunday 18th February.
We’re also hosting the first of our new ‘Taste and Create’ series (also on Sunday 18th February). We’ll be getting crafty in our tasting room with Pottery Painting! We’ve teamed up with local mobile pottery company, Paint A Pot who will be providing a selection of items – pick your clay item of choice and get decorating! We’ll be enjoying a flight of wines and learning about the use of clay in winemaking. If you’re new to wine or you enjoy food and wine then come along to our How To Wine Wednesday on Wednesday 21st February. A relaxed and informal evening where we’ll teach you the basics of how to taste wine, and the secrets of pairing food and wines, using examples from our range of wines. Hone your senses, explore the aromas and flavours and learn how to pick your perfect food match – we’ll be serving light nibbles which correlate to the basic food tastes to explore with your wines. And finally, we’re finishing off February with the return of our popular Vineyard Geology and Wine Tour on Sunday February 25th. Take a trip back in time with our resident geologist Rachel and learn about the rocks and soils in our vineyards, before heading out into the vines. You’ll walk through millions of years of geological history and have the chance to go fossil hunting. Then warm up back in the tasting room with a fire, some delicious soup and a wine flight to finish off the day!
Regular Vineyard Tours & Wine Tastings
Our award winning vineyard and winery tours are running throughout the winter – perfect for those having a winter getaway, or if you are hosting friends and want something to do. We’ll be discussing winter pruning in the vineyard and in the winery the team are looking at the potential of the 2023 wines and putting together the blends ahead of bottling these wines later in the year. Tours are running as follows:
- Classic tours (Monday and Thursdays, 2pm; Saturdays 3pm)
- Classic tours with grazing lunch (Wednesdays 11am; Fridays 1pm)
- Premium tours (Saturdays 11am, Fridays 2nd February & 1st March 6:15pm)
